ESPNIC Non-invasive Ventilation Course

Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

Advancing excellence in neonatal and paediatric respiratory support

Our two-day course provides a practical introduction to non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in neonatal and paediatric care. Through a blend of lectures, skill stations, hands-on workshops and simulation, you will develop the knowledge and confidence needed to deliver safe and effective respiratory support.

Key topics throughout the course include the ICEMAN approach, neonatal and paediatric ventilation equipment, patient-ventilator asynchrony, troubleshooting and recognising and managing NIV failure.

Designed for healthcare professionals involved in the care of infants and children requiring respiratory support, our course combines evidence-based learning with practical application in a supportive and interactive environment.
